We appreciate all who helped in the 56th Annual Turkey Dinner. Together we were able to raise over $61,000. We appreciate the huge volunteer support that makes this day of fun possible for our community.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated or came to enjoy Turkey Dinner this year on October 23, 2016. We appreciate you making this fun event possible to benefit St. Mary's Catholic School. Over 4,100 plates were served. Thank you for the support of our 54th Turkey Dinner.
2015 was the 53rd year of this favored meal which has grown to include a day of fun memories for families in our community. The event includes a country store, biergarten, raffle drawings, clown palace and paddle wheel.
The Turkey Dinner is one of the main fundraisers for the St. Mary's Catholic School. Volunteers from the school and the church come together to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving meal complete with turkey, dressing, gravy, noodles, cranberry sauce, peas, coleslaw, bread and homemade cake. This year's dinner served almost 4,000 people. The St. Mary's Parent Teacher Club is the group responsible for organizing the event. PTC president David Mills said, “I would like to thank every single volunteer because without each of you, this dinner would not happen.” Mills estimates that the annual event logs over 1,000 volunteer hours.
Following the meal, the extra food was distributed by St. Vincent de Paul to needy families in our community.
