"There are three reasons why we study history: 1) to become an informed, intelligent, and involved citizen/voter; 2) to understand what happened, to understand what is happening, to anticipate what might happen; and, 3) to be grateful for what the people of the past have done for us."
Mr. Weinheimer was born and raised in Fredericksburg, Texas. He attended St. Mary's School from kindergarten to grade 11, when St. Mary's High School closed. On July 13, 1975, Carey became the last graduate of St. Mary's High.
After high school, Mr. Weinheimer attended Schreiner College in Kerville for two years and then two years at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, and received a Bachelor of Science in Education. He taught at Dripping Springs High School for one year, and then joined St. Mary's in September of 1980. His present duties include teaching junior high Scocial Studies and Cafeteria Director.
Carey and his wife, Lenda, were married in June of 2002, and help run the family ranch at Luckenbach.
