Religion classes teach the Catholic faith as well as integrate sacramental instruction for Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Students are challenged to live out their faith and the mission of St. Mary’s School by participating in various service projects and community events throughout the school year. All teachings at St. Mary’s are in harmony with the rich faith doctrine of the Catholic Church and its Catechism. Our Religion classes are taught by Catholic teachers certified in Level I and II of TCCED Certification for Teachers of Religion in Catholic Schools.
The perpetual adoration society of St Mary’s Catholic Church keeps each student and teacher in prayer throughout the school year while in the presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist. Each class is brought to the Adoration Chapel and explained the true presence of Christ. All are invited to pray for their special intentions as well as those of others.

At St. Mary's, each child is matched with a buddy as soon as school begins. This buddy sits with them at mass, reads to them, plays on the playground and attends buddy lunch. We want every child to have a positive experience in mass and having that friend to count on each week is part of the unique experience at SMS.
