SMS 6, 7 and 8th grade students will explore Washington D.C. on June 4-7 after the close of the school year. Twenty-seven SMS students will be traveling with chaperoning teacher, Lacey Vorauer, to visit memorials, museums, Arlington National Cemetery, the White House and the US Capitol Building. This is a new venture for St. Mary's which is partnering with Worldstrides to bring this opportunity to the Apaches.
Vorauer says, "I am excited to be able to take this great group of kids to our nation's capitol. We will learn about history and government and enjoy hands on experience. It's a wonderful opportunity to see and feel pride in our country. The kids are working hard at raising funds to help pay for the cost of their trips."
